Reports

Break a project or portfolio's cost down by period, person or account over a timeframe, save the report and export it to XLSX.

A report covers one project or portfolio over a timeframe. Unlike the Overview, which shows everything logged, a report lets you choose the period and how to slice it.

Create a report#

  1. Open Reports in the sidebar and choose New report.
  2. Give it a Name, then pick the Project or portfolio and the Timeframe.
  3. Choose a Report type. For By period also choose the Breakdown: by week or by month.
  4. Choose Create. The report is saved and opens.
Report typeRows are
By periodWeeks or months in the timeframe.
By personOne row per person, with a total.
By accountOne row per cost account (including "No account"), so you can see CAPEX versus OPEX for the period.

Totals are shown as tiles: hours, labor cost, expenses and total cost. A time-based project reports hours only.

The Reports list#

Saved reports appear as cards with their name, type, project or portfolio and period, and a search box above. Click a report's name to open it (a read-only view of the result). Use Edit to change its settings and Update to save, or Delete (with confirmation).

Filters in the result view#

When a report is open you can narrow it by Person and by Account. These filters are for looking, not part of the saved report. Expenses cannot be attributed to a person, so a person filter shows labor only; an account filter keeps expenses booked to that account.

Export#

Use Export to XLSX to download the current result as a spreadsheet.

Portfolio reports#

A portfolio report is each member project's report for the period, merged. Hours add up. Money adds up only across monetary members that share one currency; with mixed currencies, or only time-based members, the cost columns are left out and the page says so. Members that cannot be loaded (for example, a deleted project) are listed and left out. If a member hit the 500-issue limit, the warning names it.

A report always reads Jira live and is not cached like the Overview, so a large project's report can take a moment to open.

Cost Tracker is built on Atlassian Forge and runs entirely on Atlassian's infrastructure. Questions or corrections: info@vudia.site.
