Portfolios
Group several cost projects for a combined view of cost, budget and team.
A portfolio groups cost projects so you can see their combined cost, budget and schedule. Open Portfolios in the sidebar to list them, and click a portfolio's name to open it.
Create and fill a portfolio#
- Choose Create portfolio, name it and, optionally, describe it.
- Open it, go to the Summary tab and use Add projects. A searchable table with checkboxes lets you add or remove several at once.
Only projects you can see can be added.
The two tabs#
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Summary | Combined figures (total cost, total budget, team size, project count), the member projects with their own status, dates and revenue, and Export to XLSX. |
| Configuration | Name, description, owner and projects, plus the portfolio's sharing. |
The Summary shows its totals once every member has been calculated. Each member's figures arrive separately, so a slow project never blocks the page.
Mixed currencies and time-based projects#
Hours always add up. Money adds up only across monetary projects that share one currency. With mixed currencies, or only time-based members, the money totals are left out and the page says so, rather than adding unlike units. Amounts are not converted between currencies.
Deleted and capped members#
- If a member project is deleted, the portfolio still loads and notes that the member was excluded from the totals.
- If a member hit the 500-issue limit, a warning names that project, so you know which total is incomplete.
Access#
A portfolio is private to its owner by default. The owner can share it with named people as read-only viewers. There is no "everyone" option and no editor level. Only the owner can delete the portfolio, add or remove projects and edit its description. See Sharing and ownership.
