FAQ and support
Short answers to common questions, and how to reach support.
- Does it replace Jira's own time tracking?
- No. It reads the worklogs your team already logs in Jira. There is no second place to log time.
- Does the app change anything in Jira?
- No. It only reads issues, worklogs and users. It never creates, edits or comments on an issue.
- Can one Jira project belong to more than one cost project?
- Yes. Scope is defined independently each time, so the same Jira project can be covered by several cost projects at once, for example one per cost account.
- Time-based or monetary: can I change it later?
- Yes, in Settings, and the app asks you to confirm first. Nothing is converted: the budget and milestone numbers keep their values and are simply read as hours or as currency amounts, so review them. See changing the type or currency.
- A person's rate went up. How do I keep last month's cost?
- Set the new rate with an Effective from date. Hours before that date keep the old rate. See Rates that change over time.
- Why does the app say hourly rates are not set?
- Logged time is being counted at 0 only because no rate applies to it. A new monetary project starts with a default rate of 0. A rate you set to 0 on purpose does not trigger the banner.
- Why does a person show a rate I never entered?
- It comes from a lower level: a cost account, their role, or the project default. The label next to the rate says which; "mixed" means an account's rate covered only some of their worklogs.
- Is there a limit on project size?
- Yes: 500 issues per project. This is a deliberate limit. See Limits and behaviour for how to split a large project.
- Are different currencies converted?
- No. Each project has one currency, and a portfolio or report adds money only across projects that share it.
- Can I export data?
- Yes, to XLSX, from expenses, fixed revenue, portfolios and reports.
- Where does the data live?
- In Forge storage on your own Atlassian site. See the privacy policy for exactly what is kept.
